Plot Synopsis[]

In a change of setting, Pinky and The Brain are two actors starring their own show, "Pinky and The Brain."

In one executive meeting after their filming session, the producers express their dissatisfaction with the show's "enormous" drop in ratings (even though the chart indicates that the decline is exaggerated) and decide that the show needs to be retooled, including a change of location, catchphrases, as well as a new supporting cast.

At their house, The Brain discusses the matter with his agent Nifty, who assures him that he is "on fire". Meanwhile, he goes into an argument with his wife Sheila (who plays Billie in the show) over her lack of screentime. For Pinky, it turns out he also lives with his "wife" -- a puppet named "Margaret."

In the next scene, the two mice start their latest rehearsal, and notice their script and set are changed drastically. Their characters now share a coffee house with energetic boy "Yurkel", a group of adopted orphans and a sassy robot, in a cheesily written sitcom. The Brain grows furious at this change and promptly quit the studio, something that Pinky realizes a bit late.

After this incident, Nifty offers him a series of acting jobs in various scenarios, such as a short-lived night time variety show, a few disposable cameos in TV dramas, as well as a deodorizer commercial. The Brain is unhappy with how these jobs have turned out and fires Nifty immediately after. In the restaurant they own, The Brain gets intoxicated on crawdads. Pinky grows worried about their life, and attempts to use his connections (such as a manicure beautician for Frank Oz) to rescue their career.

Later, Pinky and the Brain end up as entertainers at Timmy's birthday party. When Timmy insults The Brain and questions his authenticity, The Brain shouts at Timmy angrily, causing them to be kicked out. In an epiphany, The Brain decides to move on from show business and move with Sheila to the countryside. This does not bode well with Sheila, and the two mice are thrown out again. The Brain asks his neighbor, TV celebrity Dick Clark, about the ways out of this mess, but Clark only tells them about their restaurant.

Things keep getting worse, as the "Pinky and The Brain" show has a new cast, Bo and Luke from the Dukes of Hazzard, backed by The Brain's old agent Nifty. In no time, Yurkel arrives at their restaurant, claiming to have bought out their only property. The Brain screams in terror, as the screen fades to their usual Acme Labs setting.

It turns out that the entire downfall has been a nightmare in The Brain's mind, and they are still two lab mice without a Hollywood full of hostilities... except they still live next door to Dick Clark, and Pinky still has his dear "Margaret."
